I remember  going to a party there hosted by the American Navy......would have been 1977 ish........is it still there....

Whilst looking through the Garden festival booklet from 1984 ,I came across a few Ads for clothes shops from that area. Barbie had also mentioned in her "Where is This " thread of the Jeans stall she used to buy from upstairs in the Precinct [ But conveniently  failing to mention the jeans size  Wink  ]
Here are a few names to jog Memories if anyone can recall them

Issy Crown .. 4 of them , with the main one at that time being in St Johns Precinct.

Patches.....3 of them, with the main one being in Lime street.

and....

Harold Ian, also of Lime Street.
Ring any bells ?

Remember "Harold Ian" well,(next to the "Bighouse) as I could never afford anything in there!! "Issy Crown" was at the top of the escalator, coming up from Williamson square.....couldn't afford anything there, neither! Laughing

Stolen from Ivor has only recently disappeared form St Helens.

One of the very first Self service Mini Marts....I'm fairly sure it was in London Road just after TJs ,near Woolies.
