I live in a pretty decent area so pot holes and a few rats because we are somewhat rural.  We have several cats in the area which take care of them.

I saw a rat trying to climb the pole to the bird seed in their little house but she failed.  I say that cos she looked as if she was having babies!

Where I work, we are inundated with grey squirrels, field mice, rabbits, it has been said foxes, and lots of varieties of birds. They come for the food.

Great just as a point of interest if you are feeding the birds bread , dampen it first in milk or water as this time of year they will have young and dry bread will choke them

SM, if I was found to be feeding anything I would get sacked.  Sad  I sometimes sneak monkey nuts to the squirrels but it is forbidden to encourage wild life because of the nature of my work. (Catering)

Oh I see sorry but can you keep it in mind if you do, I don't know how many times i have seen dead chicks through people's good wiil also anyone feeding nuts make sure the birds have to take them out of a feeder, this way the beak full they take back to the nest is small enough for the chicks to manage or put them in a blender to chop them up not the chicks the nuts Shocked

Good advice there SM.
I also wish people would feed the ducks and swans etc on less bread and more things like weetabix which is far more healthier for them. Buying proper duck feed is the best of course.
