Nice pic's B.B. I work not far from there! Still haven't found out anything about those rocks,on the central reservation though???

brainbox

I did notice them on Sunday when taking the Pics MOJO.
I doubt if they are of any real historical significance...i.e. Calder Stones or anything like that.I reckon they are merely decorative and put there to compliment the historical significance of the site... it however would be nice if it was found that the boulders had originated from the ancient Monastic Granary , but thats just my mind wandering...yet again !
MOJO

It's just that they are so close to other historic items, and the aren't all boulders,as it were, they're longer pieces, which could be off,or from something?? Look how the Calder stones have been shifted around! Shocked
Alice

When I googled Calder Stones, this website came up.  Has anyone been to see them at Harthill Greenhouses in Calderstones Park?

Barbie

I've seen them in Calderstone Park Alice. couldn't get into them but saw them through the glass.
MOJO

They've been moved all over the place, for something so historic....pathetic!
MOJO

You might have spotted these,B.B.when you where in the Aigburth Hall rd.area,as the next road along,Holmfield rd. has these rather old,and eccentric, houses, among the traditional 30's semi's

Don't know what this is all about, but interesting,to say the least!

Apparently, this was last used as a hotel, but has now been converted into apartments, though the gargoyles have been retained!

Barbie

I want to move in... Cool
Love them!
MOJO

Wonder how much?????? Shocked
brainbox

Good spotting MOJO. I must say I have driven past them I dont know how many times...it could be hundreds, and yet not noticed them. Thats what makes the walks so special. you have time to stop -look and wonder.
