Boss Bishops

Following on from last weeks Official Installation of the Catholic Archbishop of Liverpool  the Most Reverend Malcolm Patrick McMahon last week, it has been announced that The next Anglican Bishop of Liverpool is to be the Right Revd Paul Bayes

I was surprised, after looking into it ,to find that the Anglican Church of England  Diocese,  ,although  based in Liverpool, actually covers an area of  389 square miles, with over 250 Churches , spread over Merseyside north of the River Mersey, part of West Lancashire, part of Wigan in Greater Manchester, Widnes and part of Warrington and in Cheshire .

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese covers an even larger area of 450 sq. miles, covering  the west of the County of Lancashire south of the Ribble (West Lancashire and part of South Ribble), parts of Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, the Hundreds of West Derby and Leyland and the Isle of Man.
241 Priests ,plus various Religious Brothers and Convent based Sisters. Forum Index -> Liverpool News & Chat
