Cemeteries

Far from being morbid, I rather think cemeteries are quite interesting places. From who is buried there to buildings and monuments there is always something to admire.

Well today I saw this place (see pic). See if anyone of you can recognise it. It's the first time I have actually looked at it today even though walked past it many times.

That one is still active MOJO, I think it was opened when the Deane Rd Kensington one closed. The Kensington one is now much improved and in pretty good shape following Lottery grant and on going volunteer work,,,,let me know when you are planning your next visit ...I will give Ya a leg up..

As St.James's Mount, was originally a cemetery,I thought I'd post this pic' here! I've never seen any of the site previous to the cathedral being built,so the only recognisable part,is the oratory

Barbie

Excellent pic Mojo. Never seen that one before.

For any of those who haven't looked in the Beatles thread, I went to the grave yard of St Michaels in Bluebell Lane, Huyton at the weekend to see the grave of the 5th Beatle, Stu Sutcliffe. I even cleaned it up a bit...weird?..

Dave, only ever did a cem at night, long time ago when I was a 'hard as nails biker gal', I was also pissed as a fart. Strolled through at midnight, was fine until some nutter ran passed me screaming that there was something horrible running after us. Of course I ran then too, scaled the wall with no effort....only to realise the git was messing. I near had a heart attack. Never again.......
That was Yew Tree Cem back in the good old 1980's.....

One of my friends lived in a house in Yew Tree Close which backed onto the cem...we used to mess about in there, nothing bad, just hangin out. But never at night..lol
