The Royal Daffodil on a stormy Mersey.  Confused

brainbox

Love the Late 50s shot of the Ferries Gangway, and that pic of the Ferry in the Storm is really dramatic. I would not want to be on that particular one though
,,is the title 'Royal 'given in recognition of their wartime service to the  Navy
Barbie

The detail of the enterance of the gangway is amazing isn't it?
I was sick as apig coming back from the Isle of Man in 1984. I've never sailed since!  Confused
MOJO

That stormy one,looks pretty awful!!
B.B. the Royal pre-fix was awarded to the M.V. Daffodil, and Iris, after their involvement in the W.W.1. raid on Zeebruge,1918. Both the original ferries, have long gone, but the names lives on!(unless "Merseytravel" say otherwise!)
Jan

Great pics Barbie ,,,love them ,,,thanks Jan x
