I read this same article during the week, It was probably in the Echo.
I found this quote from Councillor Malcolm Kennedy. to mean that the developers could go ahead and destroy these remnants of our heritage pretty much Carte Blanche, as long as they recorded their existence prior to bulldozing them away.
Yet more City Council apathy towards our History..

here is the quote : see what you read into it ,

Council cabinet member for regeneration Cllr Malcolm Kennedy said it was important to chart the cityís history and make progress at the same time.

He added: "The fact is you canít dig anywhere near the river without finding something of interest.

"Usually with things like this itís just about making sure that there are records of these things being there, finding out whether they are mapped and in the history books and adding to our historical knowledge.

"But itís not a matter of saying we canít build here because of some old dock walls."

Some Old Dock Walls indeed Mr Kennedy, !!!!!!!do you not realise this city was made Great by the likes of ,as you flippantly refer to as..'Some Old Dock Walls '

hes a jobs worth isnt it about time this stupid council employed  a specific person with historical knowledge to inform the council on things like this oh but i forgot they are cash strapped. yet can afford twelve million to buy Everton a training ground and surprise our Mr Anderson is a life long Everton Supporter. when this was asked of him by a member of the special schools they are closing because of cash shortages his excuse was that it was a good investment †q52
