esse Hartley's Stone This pillar, a notched shaft of granite, was a sample provided for Jesse Hartley's Dock Engineer. The location was originally within the grounds of Harthill House and the pillar was erected by Hartley's daughter, Fanny, in memory of her father. It is quite difficult to spot in the hedgerow to the right of the vestibule building that houses the Calderstones. My thanks to Nigel Sharp, Parks Development Officer, for this information. He has informed me that the authorities have considered relocation to a more prominent position with explanatory information, but financial constraints make this unlikely in the near future.

I've had this pointed out to me during a past tour of the Park & its surroundings Scousemouse.
If it wasnt shown I dont think i ever would have noticed it. It blends in seamlessly with the surrounding trees,
Its not in its original location therefore
I think it should be again relocated, but this time  to Albert Dock

It certainly needs to be more prominent. Forum Index -> Liverpool and Merseyside History & Nostalgia
