..Dont know about the railings , but yes I suppose you could be right on that

I was also looking at the chimney  barbie, cos I rather like things well stacked
too   Razz

..,,,,..and the Portman Rd Joke runs and runs and runs.. hahaha   Razz
Barbie

I am someone who really notices the attention to detail, the wrought iron was really fancy Victorian stuff eh?
Up to date pic has t.v. aerials  Very Happy

Yes barbie, A lot can be gained from studying pics. and magnifying them, I see telephone wires too... Until I found this pic I hadnt realised I have parked loads of times right there where those cars are parked. Mr. Green
Barbie

Here is the end of the road that you have posted. (Taken from Google maps)

Here is the other end, more to my liking. Look at the detail and see how they have altered the window.

Compare and contrast!

I agree on the design preferences barbie, I think the window alteration is just a glitch on the Google Upload though isnt it ?

The outbuilding to the back of those new Apartments used to be the Body preparation room for the Undertakers that used to be just in front of it
..but thats got nothing to do with  why I used to park there tough

Barbie

No, not a glitch. See the arch over the newer bit painted cream? Also looks like a doorway been shut off too.

Barbie

More alterations in the house on the end of the road you posted. I bet you sorry you posted now...... Laughing  Razz (I know I'm boring!!!!)

You will have to give me more time on the altered window one Barbie as it deffo looks like the Image has shifted on google cos the corner of the building is Skewiff too..or am i looking at it wrong
 Embarassed

Good spotting on the blocked up door, I hadnt noticed that, you really do pay terrific detail to detail as you said earlier... wow!

Strange one on the blocked out windows it looks like those ' Window Tax 'avoidance blocked windows you see on old properties, but these properties would have been built after that law was abolished.  Wouldnt it be dark in there now ? unless there are now windows on the other side...Does nothing for the look of the property though does it.
Barbie

In my opinion, it is a window and a door been blocked off. Looks to me like it has been a shop of sorts in later years.
If I'm wrong then ok, but I will go down there and bloody check it out....... Laughing  Laughing  Razz

MOJO

That old, upturned settee, on the corner, should give you a clue.....
Barbie

Gosh yes, I've seen the settee......I'm sure it belonged to Mrs. Bogworth who lived in the Smithdown/Portman Road area.
MOJO

That's the one! Poor old Mrs Bogworth....blown off her sofa! Crying or Very sad
Barbie

Well, mixing Vindaloo with 5 pints of lager and a bag of nuts is asking for it!
MOJO
