St Helens

I like st Helens and go up there quite often for shopping. Not a big a shopping place as Liverpool but I love that fact. It isn't as crowded and I love all their charity shops.
St Helens has it's own heritage and I often look at their old buildings and marvel at how they are still there looking so good.

Anyway, I hope to get there this saturday or maybe next to see this....

I thought someone may be interested in it.

Thanks for the link Barbie, That looks like a nice little Museum they have there. St Helens have their main Street called Church st too dont they, but they are one up on us in that I think they actually still have their church & Gardens †still in situ in it.
Barbie

Yep, church still there, it's had some work done on it recently too.
Alice

I don't like St. Helens at all and the locals complain about all the charity shops. †I much prefer Warrington which also has a museum or Liverpool.

Barbie have you ever been to the Trafford Centre by bus from Liverpool?
Barbie

I like Warrington too Alice. Where abouts is the museum? Anywhere near the bus, train stations?

Yes it is near Bank Quay train station, just over the road in Museum Street and its not that far from the Bus Station.

Do you know that you can get a bus from Warrington bus station to the Gemini Retail Park?
Barbie

That's good info thanks Alice. I want to go to the museum now, and the park in the spring and summer. I'll check if it open over the christmas hols as i have some time off work.
Barbie

Well, I went to the museum today in Sin Tellins. I can tell you that it is worth £3.50 of anyone's money.
I loved it.

Here are a few pics of the place.
To begin with, here are a few pics of an Australian bus which you are allowed to board....

I was going to ask was it driven here all the way from its homeland but then I thought a little   Embarassed

Thanks for sharing your pics, It looks like you had a smashing time in Sinn Tellins
Barbie

Well it was driven parts of the way but shipped here obviously most of the way.
I took loads of pics but don't wanna bore everyone with pics of old buses.....they remind me of work.....the back ends.... Laughing
Alice

Great photos Barbie, glad you enjoyed it!
Barbie

Thanks Alice. Hope to get to Warrington's museum very soon.
Lizzie

Fabulous pics..glad you enjoyed it.....
Barbie

Very Happy Got pics of the old buses....but, I'm scared I'm turning into an old fart....well, a REALLY old fart.... Embarassed
MOJO

...oh post them anyway! (cor, what's that smell? Laughing ) You should pay a visit to the Wirral transport museum,bigger,better,....and free!
Barbie

Mojo, I've been trying to get there and I may just make it this weekend. Weather pending! I have a weekly bus ticket this week that takes me all over the Wirral.
The St Helen's one is a private museum and so I didn't mind the £3.50. The bus owners pay rent and so they can afford to charge so little.
