its heartening to see there are a fair number
of us who do enjoy walking
we must all be fit and slim

That's a good idea Alice, I'll try that.

JR, I'm 50 in a couple of weeks and I have to say, I'm a lot fitter than a lot of younger people who think nothing of spending 2 just for 4 bus stops. Kids get taken to school and picked up again in mum's car! No chance of walking off the burger and other fattening food stuffs they eat today. Yuck, all that fat, I couldn't eat one if I tried.
When I did Snowdon there were younger people who struggled to get to the top simply because they are not used to it. I don't mean them all, just an awful lot.
So all in all, I'm not so bad for 50! Smile

Walked from Crosby coastguard station,up to Hightown, today. About a 5 mile round trip,on a beautiful day! Smile The path goes all the way,or you can follow the rubble strewn beach, which I think is demolition material from Bootle, and surrounding area's,and used as a barrier against erosion,or go via the sand dunes, where there are the remains of fort Crosby,a WW2 army camp, which was demolished in th late 50's

Looking at some of the rubble, you can see that some of it is from rather ornate, and large buildings, which I think might be WW2 bomb debris from Liverpool!?

The local kids seem imaginative enough to utilise this giant Lego set!

Don't let the rubble put you off, though!

I grew up thinking the river Alt,was one step up from a sewer,so it's surprising to see it's mouth, with yachts moored there!
