....after a bit of cleaning!

And what it looks like now! The pub/building to the left of the American still survives. Do we know what it was called?

It still retained the original Victorian gas lamps inside. Not sure they survived the conversion to flats, though.  Sad

This was the "Customs house" pub' in South John st. It was demolished after bomb damage in WW2.

If the Luftwaffe hadn't got it, you can be sure the council would have!!

Remember this pub' in London rd? Now demolished!

Never went in there.
Sadly, some of the last Georgian buildings on London Rd - gone.
Stuffed Manila envelopes have always taken precedence.

Had a scout round the Grafton st.area,in Dingle, the other week, not an area I know,at all, so I couldn't name this pub, which is in Cockburn st.?

One of these streets is were "Bread" was filmed, though I don't know which one! Nice views of the Welsh hills, across the river!

This is the strangely named "Bleak House" pub....

...with it's own "Liverbird"

further along is another closed pub' known as the"Nutty"!

Round the corner, onto Herculaneum Hill, another odd pub,the "Herculaneum Bridge"! Notice the way the building cuts into the sandstone!

...it's actually known as "Peglegs"!(apparently, there's one behind the bar, though I didn't see it!)

One of the regulars insisted on showing me the fireplace, and the dome!

...it's an interesting area,with a few bits,and pieces,worthy of further investigation!

The dome in 'Peglegs' is similar - but not as grand - as the one in The Lion on Moorfields.
