Hi Barbie
My earliest memory of the site where the Aldi is now was a few prefab houses and a sweet shop called Martindales. I reckon the pre-fabs came down about 1970/71 and the land was just grassed over until they built that Bingo place there (opposite the baths). Can't remember the year...maybe late 1980's, the Aldi and Burger king came much later on, late 1990's i think.
I lived in Denmark for about 4/5 years from the mid 1980's and married a Danish girl, so a lot of things that went on in the pool from that time I wasn't here...
But after the pre-fabs went the land opposite the baths was just grass for many years.

Haha, the biggest thing there is the bingo and I forgot about it. Rolling Eyes
Thanks for the information, I will google about and look for photo's now. I have no recolection of the area before 1982 when I moved to Huyton. I would like to see the prefabs.
Cheers.
Incidently, where in Denmark did you live? If it not too nosey that is.  Smile

I have tried to find photos of the pre-fabs but alas..non forthcoming. I would love to see a photo of that area with the pre-fabs on... I reckon its one of my earliest memories. I must have only been 4 when they knocked them down.
I lived in the centre of Copenhagen for a couple of years and then moved out to the leafy northern suburbs to a place called Soborg/Gladsaxe.
We moved back to Liverpool in 1990...my wife now an adopted scouser. Think Jan Molby (the Danish Liverpool player)...lol

Someone somewhere will have shots of them, I am determined to seek them out now!  Very Happy

Thanks for the info, I asked because I used to have  a penfriend in Aarhus, I've always wanted to visit the country but not made it so far. My mum and dad did though back in the 1980's and they loved it. A Scouse Dane eh? I bet she has a wonderful accent.  Very Happy
