This place suddenly came into view recently as they shrubbery and overgrown greenery was all chopped down. I've always wondered what was there as regards to the building, I knew it was Alder Grange, nursing home.
Anyway, cutting a long story short, I took a photo of it, it's being done up.

Big innit?
Anyway, posted the pic on facebook and someone kindly gave me photos of the interior dated 1888. It was magnificent.

Beautiful building, just what I like. The intricate decor is, or was, amazing.

What a shame it was turned into a nursing home, it was such a beautiful building.  Good post Barbie.

A shame indeed but at least it was preserved. I love it.

Just as well, as it probably would have been demolished, like thousands of similar properties, after WW2!
